SolidWorks Rendering

As far as I'm concerned, SolidWorks is one of the finest pieces of software ever written. Its power is immense, and after three years use, there is still much for me to learn. Someone asked me, as an engineer, if I were forced to sacrifice SolidWorks, or the hammer, saw and screwdriver for my entire career. Which would I choose to keep? I barely even had to think, SolidWorks of course!

Aside from simple use, as part, assembly and then drawing software, I am also capable of using SolidWorks for detailed sheet metal fabrication, photorealistic (almost!) rendering, mechanical simulation and finite element analysis.

One of the most satisfying processes available to you in SolidWorks is the ability to produce remarkably lifelike rendered images from your CAD geometry.

Formula Student

After using PhotoWorks to lay out and size vinyl logos (see FS meets FT), I went on to produce a number of high quality renders for presentations and publicity materials.

MDD Project

Part of the Multi-Disciplinary Design Project (see MDD Project) was to produce a number of differing presentations and posters. In order to do this, I produced several good quality SolidWorks renders. Differing from the above, I went on to enhance these images using Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks.
